This post which includes a video shows how I create shaped cards, ornaments, and gift tags using the Spellbinders Stitched for Christmas Dies - Stitched Christmas Sweater Etched Dies, Stitched Christmas Tree Etched Dies, and Stitched Poinsettia & Holly Etched Dies. I created these for the Christmas Craft Creations July 2023 challenge which has a theme of Anything Goes.

I have already used these dies previously, see this post which includes a video. However this time around I decide to make shaped cards, christmas ornaments, and gift tags with the same dies. Also some of the gift tags can also be kept and hung on the Christmas tree as an ornament - fun!

Check out the video below.

This shaped card fits neatly into an envelope for A2 sized cards which measure 4 /14” by 5 1/2”.

Christmas gift tags that could also be subsequently used a an ornament - these are for my three nieces!

When stitching on the Stitched Christmas Sweater Etched Dies use a DMC Tapestry needle size 26. As these notches were not meant for stitching (I think!) pierce the ‘holes’ with a DMC Tapestry needle size 26 prior to stitching. I used the metallic threads for stitching directly onto the sweater. Note: Stitching with metallic threads is a little harder than stitching with DMC cotton thread. However I got ‘addicted’ to stitching directly onto the sweater!

Created with masking sheet and ink blending - quite tedious, and then did some stitching

Coloured with Copic Sketch Markers, YYG17, YR23, BG23, and R29 - much easier, and then did some stitching

Small Gift Tags

These small gift tags can subsequently be used as an ornament, if so wished.

Shaped Cards

These shaped cards measure 3” by 3 1/2” and this I make custom envelopes for them using the Envelope Punch Board - it only requires a 5 3/4” square paper to create this envelope.
